I am working on a new painting in my Living Room series.
Of course, this is the inside of a bar actually, but it's like a living room.

This is a painting I am struggling with a lot. I would like to do four 24 x 24" paintings for the PLYWOOD Show, but this is the second and it isn't coming along as easliy as the first . . .

Here's the newest painting. Another moody lady :)
And maybe the last woman painted for my hopefully-upcoming
PLYWOOD show.

And here I am actually painting . . .
Here is the third in the series of living room paintings. I finished it and sold it last night at the ArtCetera event. I think I will miss it actually . . .

This time I added a person to the living room. When I took my last painting class, I thought the professor talking about the significance of an empty chair was slightly over-analytical. Now, I think about it a lot. What is space unoccupied versus comfortably taken-for-granted and lived in? The painting itself is driving me crazy; it has not really come to me, and I have done and redone her face over and over again.

This is what I am working on this week.
My first time to paint a living room that doesn't actually involve rollers and paint trays . . . but I am still working on it, hard to know exactly when it's finished, since I kind of want it to have an ethereal quality.

So I haven't painted for awhile . . . most of the summer actually.  And it took the art car show to get me back to work, also an overhaul of the studio/house.  Not sure how I feel about the painting . . . it's supposed to be an airplane, but I have this Petit Prince fear that the adults won't see it.  I am happy to be back in the studio though; I only wish I had more time and a pile of prepped canvas . . .
